The Brief
Scanning a knee implant means holding a delicate, highly polished part perfectly still, then turning it to capture every angle.
Our Solution
We designed a bespoke rotating vice: a 3D-printed frame with threaded clamping rods and wing nuts, so the implant can be gripped gently, locked in place and rotated between scans.
The Impact
A custom piece of lab apparatus at TRL 3, designed and prototyped around the parts it needs to hold.
